What to Include in Your Inquiry
A quote comes back faster and more accurate when the RFQ carries these five items. Missing one is fine — our engineer will ask for it in the first reply, but complete inquiries typically turn around same-day.
1. GEOMETRY
STEP, IGES, X_T or STL. A 2D drawing with critical dimensions marked beats a bare 3D solid for tooling quotes.
2. MATERIAL
Resin grade or performance requirements (temperature, chemical exposure, UV, flame rating) and we shortlist grades from 100+ supported.
3. VOLUME
Prototype count, then annual or program volume — tooling class (soft vs hardened steel) is chosen from this number.
4. TOLERANCES & FINISH
General tolerance plus any critical dimensions, texture or plating spec. Unknowns are fine — DFM review flags them.
5. TIMELINE & CERTS
Target first-article date and any documentation needs (PPAP-style, material certs) so the quote scope matches them.
What Happens After You Send
- Within 24 hours — an engineer (not a sales desk) replies with a DFM review: risks found in the geometry, suggested material grades, and the questions that affect price.
- Quote breakdown — tooling and per-part cost arrive as separate lines, priced at your volume breaks, so program economics are visible before you commit.
- Sample plan — for mold-and-part programs you get a T1 date and first-article measurement plan; prototypes ship before any production tool is cut.
